إنشاء محاكم الأسرة
صدر القانون رقم 10 لسنة 2004 بإنشاء محاكم الأسرة للنظر في دعاوى الأسرة بما في ذلك الطلاق خلال فترة زمنية أقل.
و طبقا لهذا القانون يقوم حاليا أحد أفراد العائلة في حالة حدوث نزاع اسري برفع الدعوى أمام هيئة واحدة من القضاة ليكونوا ملمين بكافة مشاكل هذه الأسرة.
ومحكمة الأسرة مخولة بالنظر في قضايا الطلاق والخلع ونفقة الزوجية ومؤخر الصداق ونفقة الأطفال والحضانة والمسكن وتصدر أحكاما في جميع هذه القضايا

Establishment of the Family Courts:
Law # 10 of 2004 established a Family Court to hear the cases of divorce in a more timely manner. Now a case is filed by one member of family before a single panel of judges who can become familiar with all the family's problems. The divorce, wife’s alimony, deferred sum, child support and custody, and housing are heard by the family court, which issues rulings on all of these matters.

Effects of Domestic Violence:
Although women are those that are mostly exposed to and suffered from acts of violence perpetrated by aggressive men, this problem can not be viewed exclusively as a women’s problem. A man, who abuses or beats his wife, suffers psychological harm. Children, also suffer tremendous trauma from witnessing acts of Domestic Violence. This can affect their physical and mental health. Serious harm is done to boys who then often follow their fathers’ examples.

آثار العنف الأسري:
على الرغم من أن المرأة هي الأكثر تعرضا ومعاناة من أعمال العنف التي يمارسها رجال معتدون غير أن هذه المشكلة لا يجب النظر إليها على أنها مشكلة تقتصر على المرأة فقط.
فالرجل الذي يسئ إلى زوجته أو يعتدي عليها بالضرب يعاني من آلام نفسية كما يعاني الأطفال أيضا من صدمة عنيفة عند مشاهدة أعمال العنف الأسري الأمر الذي يؤثر على صحتهم النفسية والعقلية.
كما أن الذكور من هؤلاء الأطفال يعانون مزيدا من المعاناة عندما يتزوجون ثم يتتبعون خطى آبائهم في سوء معاملة زوجاتهم وأبنائهم بعد ذلك.
