All my life I have always felt inclination to English language. At school and especially during my first higher-education course at the Ivanovo State Power University I profoundly studied English both professional and everyday tongue, had extensive reading/writing and speaking/listening practices. As a result of these studies, the first higher-education diploma paper was defended in English, which fact was attested by the corresponding record in diploma-paper transcript.
Professional Experience
Since the very start of my career knowledge of English has been in great demand at various state- and privately-owned organizations and establishments where I worked. A considerable portion of working time was dedicated to making numerous written translations in various fields of knowledge, including acquired profession. Rather often I used to have interpreting practice as well. Because of my affection for English language and inclination to use it in ones profession on a permanent and prevailing basis coupled with high popularity and demand in written translations I came to a decision to make knowledge and command of English along with my professional and translation experience my primary occupation. Since then I started working solely in the field of translation & localization initially as an employed person at local translation & localization companies and afterwards as a self-employed freelance translator. All in all, my translation & localization experience counting from the start of extensive applied value-making usage of English in professional activity amounts to over 10 years. This period was worth accumulating a wealth of expertise and proficiency in making accurate and skilful translations in various subject areas pertaining both to technical and humanitarian fields of knowledge. Practically, it resulted in translation & localization of projects concerning the products of globally known companies, among which the following just several examples can be stated:
APC (InfraStruXure System, Automatic Transfer Switch)
Baxter (System 1000 Series)
Dell (Broadcom Wireless LAN software, Dell PowerEdge 1855 Systems)
Gambro BCT (Trima Accel Automated Blood Collection System)
Hyperion (Hyperion Pillar)
Nokia (Nokia Xpress-onTM GPS shell & others)
Novell (success stories, software/marketing/legal materials on NetWare, Linux, Nterprise, exteNd, eDirectory & other products)
Philips (Philips iU22 Ultrasound System, HD11 Ultrasound System, QLAB Advanced Quantification Software)
Polycom (VSX Series videoconferencing systems, ViaVideo, Polycom PCX software)
SeaGull (BarTender, Commander)
Seagate (Internal Hard Drive Ultra ATA/100 Quick Start Guide)
Synaptics (Synaptics TouchPad, LuxPad pointing device)
and many other projects of technical nature. Alongside with technical subjects I happened to acquire vast experience in mainstream areas of natural and social sciences business/economics, advertising & marketing, legal matters, medicine, psychology and sociology owing to considerable volume of translations made in these humanities. Currently, the specified practical experience in the humanities is even more profoundly and reliably backed up by the second higher education acquired in the field of economics, business and management.
