What does it do?

Clients who are in a hurry and want an immediate answer about their jobs can't wait on email. So when you log on to the ComConsole via MyCorner or through adding it to your favorites, the site will see you as online and available for work. This will boost your standing on the APC search results in many cases.

How does it work?

When a client clicks on the "Initiate Chat" links on the search results or your profile a connection with you will be initiated if you are online. You will then be able to answer any specific questions about his/her job and maintain communication with the client as he/she makes a decision. This conversation will be logged for future references and in case he/she decides to compare multiple offers.

How much does it cost?

Because this feature only works if you are there to communicate with the client, and because it would be incredibly frustrating to not be answered when the translator claims to be online, this feature is not free. Anytime a translator is contacted by the client via ComConsole there is a 0.50 USD charged to the translator when funds are withdrawn from his account. Again, if you don't get paid... we don't get paid. In the end, our goal is that this charge encourages you to log off when you're not by your computer (and we've given you a sleep function in case you forget).

How do I use it?

In order for clients to contact you, you must open ComConsole and keep it open for as long as you are available to answer to them. To open ComConsole you can follow the link in My Corner (or this link).
Also, for your convenience, you can just add ComConsole Launcher to your favorites and you'll be able to get to it easily whenever you're looking for work.

Once you have ComConsole open, all you have to do is wait for clients to contact you. Just minimize the window, but if you to close it, it will mark you as offline.

As soon as a client initiates a conversation with you, a new window will be open for both of you to chat. And from there you can link to SecureTrans once the job is yours!

NOTE: Please keep in mind that for ComConsole to work correctly, you will have to enable popups from our site. These are the kind of popups that most protection software block, (unlike the ones that open following a click from your part), so please make sure to read our document on Enabling Popups if the Launcher or ComConsole show you a sign indicating that popups are blocked.

Please remember to log out of ComConsole (it is preferred to use the Log Out link instead of just closing the window) when you will not be available, to avoid getting charged for New Client Contacts that are not profitable to you.
